BEC was formed in July, 1995, as a specialty electrical contractor providing fire detection systems for commercial buildings. The company was founded by its President, Richard Taylor. Richard brings thirty (30+) years of experience in the fire detection industry to BEC. He brought together a group of experienced and new employees to serve the needs of a demanding specialty business.

As time passed and the company proved its strong foundation in the fire detection industry, BEC was approached to perform work in other areas by its customers. BEC expanded into security systems including access control, CCTV and intrusion. With the successful integration of these systems, it was not hard to foresee the future. Considering the current economic condition, and contractors trying to find ways to streamline and save money, BEC was approached to expand yet again.

In order to provide the same level of quality and cost effective solutions, BEC maintained its commitment to be an IBEW Signatory company. This provides BEC with unlimited access to workers of all skill levels in multiple disciplines. BEC actively targets high end products and top tier training as well. These ingredients have provided the foundation for the 100% low voltage solution.

As President of the company, Richard oversees all aspects of the operation. He has a degree in electronics, sixteen (16) years of experience marketing fire detection systems with the Edwards Company and over sixteen (16) years experience managing and operating fire alarm installation companies. Richard maintains an active role in the day to day operations of the company. It is not uncommon to find him on the job site giving advice and sharing his experience with the field workers. It is this type of can-do attitude that differentiates BEC in the low voltage industry.

BEC possesses a core management team that is eager to continue BEC’s success. By providing experienced project managers, detailed CAD operators, and skilled technicians, BEC can set itself apart from the competition. From the beginning of the project the customer will find that the sales department will guide them through the process and coordinate alongside the project management team.

BEC knows how stressful it can be to own or run a construction project. It is our goal to relieve you of the typical stress provided by run of the mill low voltage contractors. By providing our customers with the confidence that we will finish on time and exceed their expectations, we bring our experience in the fire alarm industry to the low voltage package.
