Building Electronic Controls, Inc. understands the importance of protecting our environment, which is why we have spent the last few years taking measures to reduce our carbon footprint and further our commitment to sustainability.
In 2014, our office implemented a paperless system. All forms and documents became electronic and almost every department’s communication and transaction efforts went digital. In 2015, we provided our field employees with tablets. Not only did this increase the effectiveness and quality of our services to further benefit clients, it also allowed us to digitize documents through Procore and Docusign and reduce overall paper usage.
Since 2012, BEC has utilized a third party company to shred and recycle paper documents. To date, BEC saved over 260 trees through recycled paper.
In 2018, BEC implemented a “recycling program” that encourages their employees to throw all plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers into a recycling bin. The recycle bin is taken to a recycling center as needed and all money collected from returns is donated to the DSES’s capital campaign to build a National Wounded Warrior Center in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
BEC is continuously making efforts to more effectively use limited natural resources and reduce our environmental impacts to assist in the creation of a sustainably aware society.
