As part of our long-term responsibility to clients and the community, we also continue to reduce our environmental impact through paperless systems, recycling programs, and smarter resource use.
Our History
Building Electronic Controls, Inc. understands the importance of protecting our environment. Over the years, we have taken active steps to reduce our carbon footprint and improve the way we manage communication, documentation, and daily operations.
In 2014, our office implemented a paperless system. All forms and documents became electronic, and almost every department’s communication and transaction efforts went digital.
How we work
- Paperless office system: Forms, records, and internal documents are managed digitally.
- Tablet-based field service: Field employees use tablets to access service information and reduce paper use.
- Digital communication: Internal and client communication is handled electronically whenever possible.
- Document management: Tools like Procore and DocuSign help digitize documents and reduce overall paper usage.
Sustainability
Since 2012, BEC has used a third-party company to shred and recycle paper documents. To date, this process has helped save over 260 trees through recycled paper.
In 2018, BEC introduced a recycling program that encourages employees to throw plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers into recycling bins.
